A full disk is a problem you get told about at the worst possible moment — mid-save, mid-update, mid-render — and never before. Windows has no ambient indicator for it at all: the number is four clicks into Explorer, and nobody goes looking until something has already failed. This puts it on the taskbar: how much room is left on the drive you care about, the drive named underneath, and a rail along the bottom for how full it is, so the trend is visible long before the number gets frightening. It turns amber as things get tight and red when you are genuinely about to run out, at a threshold you pick — 10% of a 256GB laptop and 10% of an 8TB array are not the same worry. The two marks inside the drive icon are a working activity light. Press the icon to step to the next drive, or click elsewhere for every drive at once, mapped network drives included.
