2. Information We Collect

WidgetSpark has no user accounts, and we try to collect only what the App needs to work and improve. Below is what we collect and when.

2.1 Identifiers sent with App requests

• Device identifier — Requests from the App to our servers include an identifier derived from your Windows installation (the Windows machine GUID). It stays the same across reinstalls of the App on the same Windows installation. We use it to apply rate limits, deliver content, remember email unlocks and key redemptions, and prevent abuse.
• Store user identifier — A Microsoft Store identifier for your Windows user, used with the device identifier for licensing, cloud sync, and abuse prevention.
• App details — The App version, your Pro status, your Windows region setting, and your IP address, which is received with every request.

2.2 Licensing

• Subscription status — The App checks your subscription with the Microsoft Store. To validate it, the App sends us the Store's signed purchase receipt (or a summary of your subscription status), which we verify and keep with your license record. We do not receive your name, email address, Microsoft account, or payment details.
• Redeemed keys — If you redeem a promotional key, we record which devices redeemed it.

2.3 Email address (only if you give it to us)

• Some items can be unlocked for free by confirming an email address. If you choose to do this, we collect your email address, send it a one-time code, and store the address along with the date you confirmed it and the devices you unlocked. When you submit an address, we check it with a verification service to reject disposable or undeliverable addresses.
• By confirming your email, you agree to receive occasional emails about new widgets and features. Every one of these emails includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to delete your address at any time (see Section 8). The code email itself is a one-time transactional message.

2.4 Usage and diagnostics

• Install counts — When you install a widget, scene, or sticker pack, the App reports the item, the App version, and your country. We store these only as totals per item, not per person.
• Activity check-ins — When the App starts, and periodically while it runs, it checks in with our servers. We record a one-way hash of your device identifier with the dates it was first and last seen, the App version, your license status, and which first-run starter set you received. We use this to understand how many people keep using WidgetSpark.
• Ratings — If you rate a widget or scene, we store your rating with your device identifier so you can change it later.
• Ad clicks — For users who see ads, we count ad clicks as totals per campaign.
• Error reports — By default, the App sends short warning and error lines from its log files so we can fix problems. You can turn this off in Settings.
• Server logs — Our cloud services log requests, including the device identifier, IP address, App version, and the request made, for security and debugging.

2.5 Features you choose to use

• Data widgets and weather location — Widgets such as weather, stocks, and exchange rates request data through our cloud service with the query you enter (for example a city or currency). To show local weather without asking, we estimate your approximate location (city and coordinates) from your IP address. That location is saved on your device.
• Cloud sync (optional, off by default) — If you turn it on, the App uploads a backup of your widget setup, including your settings, layouts, widget and sticker configuration, AI-generated widgets, and your saved approximate location. You can delete your backup from the App.
• Community layouts — If you submit a layout, we store what you submit (title, author name, description, tags, the layout, and a screenshot of your desktop) together with your device and Store identifiers for moderation. The layout files and screenshot are publicly accessible once uploaded. Identifiers are removed from the public listing when a layout is approved. If you like or report a layout, we record that with your identifiers.
• Support requests — If you contact support through the App, we store your message, the email address you provide (optional), your identifiers, IP address, App version, and technical details such as your Windows version, language, display setup, and a few App settings.
• AI Studio — Prompts you enter are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a widget. We do not store your prompts. The generated widget is saved on your device.

2.6 What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, Microsoft account, or payment details
• We do not use GPS or Windows location services
• We do not access your files, documents, photos, or browsing history
• We do not record your screen, microphone, camera, or keystrokes (a screenshot is taken only when you submit a community layout)
• We do not sell or rent your information, or share it with third parties for their own advertising

2.7 Information stored only on your device

• Widget settings, positions, sizes, and layouts (unless you turn on cloud sync)
• Sticker positions and App preferences
• Installed widget, scene, and sticker files (encrypted at rest)
• License cache and email unlock (encrypted, so they work offline)

2.8 Information collected by the Website

• Standard web server logs — Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may collect standard access logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used for security and performance purposes and is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Cookies and analytics — The Website uses essential cookies, Google Analytics for aggregated usage stats, and, only with your consent, Microsoft Clarity to find broken or confusing pages. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland analytics runs only with your consent; elsewhere it runs by default and you can opt out at any time. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data. See our Cookie Policy to manage your choices.

3. How We Use Information

• To provide the App's features, content, and data widgets
• To verify subscriptions, promotional keys, and email unlocks
• To send the codes and emails you signed up for
• To understand usage in aggregate and improve the App
• To diagnose errors, answer support requests, and moderate community content
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep our services secure
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following service providers to run WidgetSpark. They process information on our behalf and are governed by their own privacy policies:

• Microsoft Store — Subscription purchases, license validation, and app distribution. Microsoft Privacy Statement

• Google Gemini API — Generates widgets from AI Studio prompts.
• Cloudflare — Website hosting, content delivery, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
• Twilio SendGrid — Delivers email codes and emails. Twilio Privacy Notice
• APIVerve — Provides data for data-powered widgets, estimates approximate location from IP addresses, and checks submitted email addresses. Your device does not connect to APIVerve directly; requests go through our cloud service.
• EvlarSoft ad network — Ads shown to free users are loaded from cdn.evlarsoft.com, which receives your IP address and browser details when an ad loads.

5. Data Security

• All communication between the App and our services uses HTTPS encryption in transit
• Widget and sticker content, the license cache, and email unlocks are encrypted on your device
• Email codes are stored only as one-way hashes and expire after 30 minutes
• Access to our databases is restricted to our cloud services

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

WidgetSpark is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, such as an email address, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Email addresses are kept until you ask us to delete them. Daily install and ad counts are deleted after 14 days, and only running totals are kept. License, activity, support, and community records are kept while they are needed to run and secure the service, or until you ask us to delete them. Cloud sync backups remain until you delete them. Server logs are kept according to our cloud provider's standard log retention. Data stored on your device remains until you uninstall the App or use "Reset App" in Settings.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to:

• Access — Know what personal data we hold about you
• Deletion — Have your data deleted, including your email address
• Portability — Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• Objection — Object to processing of your data, including marketing emails
• Correction — Have inaccurate data corrected

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of them, turn off error reports in Settings, and delete your cloud sync backup from the App. For anything else, email [email protected]. Because we have no accounts, please include the email address you confirmed, or tell us which device your request is about, so we can find your data. We will respond within 30 days.

9. International Users

WidgetSpark is operated by EvlarSoft LLC from the United States. If you use the App or Website from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers maintain facilities.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App or Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

THE APP AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. EVLARSOFT LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR WEBSITE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. EvlarSoft LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
